I am off to a photo shoot this afternoon. 4thesoul Apparel just received new necklaces, bracelets and earrings from Simply Shawn. Shawn is a wonderfully creative jewelry designer that handmakes each one of her designs and they are all one of a kind. She is also a great gal. I have know Shawn since high school. I love to listen to music. Especially when I am in my studio designing. Music along with many other things gives me inspiration. I have a few new shirt designs thanks to a song. These designs will feature the theme of being “FREE.” Stay tuned because these designs will be coming soon.

I have been an artist my entire life. I have been painting faith filled artwork for the last 15 years. What I mean by that is that I painted from what came to me from my soul. I opened myself up to listening to that still small quiet voice for inspiration. Since I have always had a love for fashion and God I decided about 3 years ago to start a fashion line called 4thesoul Apparel. I wanted to offer something different in the fashion world. I was really tired of seeing skulls, negative symbols and negative words on clothing. I believe our words and thoughts have the power to make our lives better. I think that what we wear is also an influence on ourselves and those around us. For years I have always put a dove in my paintings. Sometimes the dove was obvious and other times it was not. The funny thing is is that my friends and art collectors would always look for the dove whenever they viewed a new piece of art for the first time. I was inspired to use a dove in my art back in the 1980’s when I was researching religious symbols in an art history class at Kent State University. The dove through the centuries has been a symbol of peace and also of the holy spirit. I guess that is why it was the obvious choice for the logo for 4thesoul Apparel.

Launching the site has kept me pretty busy. Now that it is up an running I am sitting at the drawing table this week working on new artwork that will have loving faith filled words that will be printed onto some new Camille tissue t-shirts that are made of 100% cotton. These T’s are super soft and long in length.
